UNDER THE WILLOW
by Steven Chorney

AIts leaves provided medicine, its branches bows, arrows and other weaponry. The value of the common willow tree was inestimable to the early Native American Peoples. Even the protective shade of the willow provides opportunity for a mother to share more than just the simple chore of softening a newly tanned deer hide with her daughter.
AIn setting such as this, she will learn the ways of her people as handed down to her mother and the countless generations before her. Oil painting on canvas.
