Native American Painting
THE STORM
by Steven Chorney

AIt was the custom of early Native Americans to cure or tan animal hides using simple and natural methods. In the final stages, hides were often 'smoke cured' over smoldering fires. This not only added deeper color, but was believed to keep the hides soft and pliable, even making them water resistant. Oil painting on canvas.
